First city...Girardot... Gary went to Girardot with our agency representative/translators Silvia & Jaime plus our lawyer Graciela to sign the official adoption decree. It's official !!! They left at 645am and headed out against the famous Bogota traffic on a 3.5 hr trip back to "HOT ra Doe" as Gary so lovingly calls it. Once they arrived they went to the courts to sign the official adoption decree. Gary said it was a very teeny tiny room but very quick and easy. We are delighted that everything went very smoothly. Then it was off to apply for Daniel's new birth ceritificate . For Gary this seemed easy but I am sure if you ask our agency reps and lawyers they might have a different opinion. Something about my maiden name that required alittle work to get everything right. We are in such good hands that at times we feel like we are in a little bubble just happy and bouncing along. They went to lunch. Gary said it was good. The trip overall was 14 hrs and extemely hot. Gary has some interesting stories to tell which I will let him tell you in person.
The other city is Bogota. Back in Bogota Daniel and I had strict instructions to stay in the hotel all day. A toddler , new mommy , hotel and several hours had me pretty nervous. The day was wonderful not sure what I was nervous about. Daniel was a sweet little boy all day. No meltdowns by baby or mommy. We had breakfast,lunch ,snack and dinner. Played ,played ,giggled,laughed , napped ,played and then before you know it bathtime & bedtime. Daniel finally went to sleep but as soon as Gary walked into our room he was wide awake and crying.I think someone missed Daddy. We missed him but he was off making the Davis Family of 3 Official.
