Another early day. It is rainy and cold in Bogota. We are off to the US Embassy to get Daniel's visa. The line in front of the embassy was very long. We did not have to stand in that line . Thank Goodness. We just walked straight in. Silvia walked us in as if she owned the place, LOVE IT!! Who knew that the First Lady was with us :) We checked in and waited for our name to be called. While we waited Daniel's vocabulary exploded again, this time he was waving and saying "BYE BYE". How appropriate considering we are in the US Embassy requesting his visa. We were called and again smooth sailing. Silvia prepared a huge envelope of required documents to turn in . Once they were turned in we were asked to wait again. This was also very brief. We returned to the window where we heard some beautiful words " Congratulations Mr and Mrs Davis. By reviewing your documents I can tell this has been a long road . I am happy to tell you everything is approved. This is the final stop before you head home." I could have cried and hugged her but she was behind a glass window. She then told us to return tomorrow to pick up Daniel's passport and visa. We are homeward bound with our newest US citizen.
We had plans to go visit Monserrate this aftenoon with Jaime and Silvia but the weather was not participating.
We went back to the hotel . After lunch, I jumped on the phone to try to change our tickets home. We really wanted Sunday or Monday. We figured we could sightsee a little on Friday and Saturday and head home Sunday. No such luck. We managed to get a flight back on Tuesday, Sept 14th. Oh well, that is fine with us. We will just enjoy the last few days in Bogota . We are just very happy . We are amazed at how fast the process went in Colombia. We are so grateful!
Daniel newest words are Mi Amor ( my love). He is so cute. Gary said Mi Amor and he quickly repeated it. He now calls Isabel Mi Amor. I am telling you he is such a flirt. He also started saying "Ha Manana" for Hasta Manana ( See you tomorrow).
